Why Do I Teach?

“Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning.”

~Robert John Meehan

I became a teacher because I love learning and working with children!

I want my students to enjoy learning as much as I do because honestly, life never stops teaching!  As an educator, it is my goal to help your child develop a both a Growth Mindset and a Love for Learning!

Hello! I am Mrs. Redding and I am happy to begin my 17th year as a teacher!  This will be my first year serving as the AIG teacher-and I am so excited!  Prior to this year, I have taught both 3rd and 4th grades, as well as a 2nd/3rd grade combination class! I have enjoyed every grade that I have taught, and truly LOVE being a teacher!

I was named Beginning Teacher of the Year for Randolph County School System for the 2007-2008 school year, Teacher of the Year for John Lawrence Elementary for the 2011-2012 school year, and the Teacher of the Year for Randolph County School System for the 2017-2018 school year!

My Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education - University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG)

  • National Board Certification - Early Childhood Generalist

  • Academically and Intellectually Gifted Certification - University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP)

A Little About Me:

When I am not teaching, my favorite thing is to spend time making special memories with my family! We love to cook, go on family bike rides, spend time at the beach & the lake...and just be together!!

Other fun facts...I really think Joanna Gaines and I could be best friends, I love the color pink and enjoy all things monogrammed!!

I am truly excited to be your child's AIG teacher, and to work with you to make this a successful school year!

Communication:

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me! I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!
